Devan Stahl is a PhD candidate at Saint Louis University in the Albert Gnaegi Center for Health Care Ethics.  She received her Master of Divinity degree from Vanderbilt University and her Bachelor of Arts degree in Religious Studies from the University of Virginia. 

Devan's research agenda has emerged from her work in bioethics and liberal Protestant theology. Her broader interests are in the areas of disability theory, gender and queer theory, and medical history. Additionally, she has also published articles in the journals of Medical Humanities, Narrative Inquiry in Bioethics, and Christian Bioethics. Devan is currently working on a edited volume with Cascade Books that brings together scholars from a variety of disciplines to examine the power of medical images.
